Journey before destination

A lot of us are so result-oriented that we forget to enjoy the process and have some fun.

There's a repeating line in one of my favourite books (The Way of Kings) from one of my favourite authors (Brandon Sanderson).

"Life before Death. Strength before Weakness. Journey before Destination."

And so, does the destination matter? Or is it the path we take? I declare that no accomplishment has substance nearly as great as the road used to achieve it. We are not creatures of destinations. It is the journey that shapes us. Our callused feet, our backs strong from carrying the weight of our travels, our eyes open with the fresh delight of experiences lived.

We are hell-bent on achieving something that we torture ourselves in the process. But the entire point is to enjoy this life as much as possible, not stack the achievements on top of one another. (It's all made up in the end anyways.)

Paradoxically, if you start focusing on the process and start enjoying it, the results will come naturally. So start enjoying the process and even take a scenic route to reach your destination in life.
